The internationally acclaimed artist Cig Harvey joins the Center for Photographic Arts to talk about photography as a method of storytelling and the role of research, science, and writing in her creative practice. She’ll discuss how her work employs sensory experience and examines the ephemeral nature of light, color, and vision. Harvey seeks out beauty, using it as a tool to elevate the experience of the everyday, and encourages her viewers to do the same. Her work is lush, bold, and intimate, transporting her audience into another world.
